Loropetalum – Outdoor Living Tip of the Day
The Outdoor Living Tip of the Day is Loropetalum. Planting day was yesterday ️here in Matthews, North Carolina. Our focus was on drainage (a dry creek bed of TN river rock, landscape fabric and a pipe out). However, the shrubs, boulders, and Double Hammered Hardwood mulch are looking amazing. Loropetalum is a variety of shrub. The traditional Ruby Loropetalum is pictured below (one from my casa). Ever Red and Dwarf Purple Diamond are other varieties of Loropetalum. These shrubs offer an alternative color (other than green) for your landscaping project. The Ruby grow fast, can be pruned as a hedge, and are a great screening for stuff (like utilities boxes…). The Dwarf Purple Diamond are fantastic for the front yard landscaping beds.
