Techo Bloc Paver Patio

At Mr. Outdoor Living®, our commitment to enhancing Charlotte homes often extends beyond a single feature. This recent project beautifully illustrates how a meticulously planned Techo Bloc Paver Patio can serve as the cornerstone of a larger exterior transformation. We meticulously installed a Techo Bloc Blu 60 Shale Grey Smooth Paver Patio, covering approximately 160 square feet (16’ x 10’), featuring a sophisticated 3-piece pattern complemented by a distinct grey border. The foundation for this durable and aesthetically pleasing patio began with a robust ABC base, precisely tamped to a depth of approximately 4 inches, ensuring long-term stability and optimal drainage. Screenings were then carefully applied, followed by Snapedge and nails to define the perimeter, and finally, gray Polymeric sand was swept into the joints, locking the pavers in place and inhibiting weed growth.

The renovation continued with the seamless integration of indoor-outdoor living, as we expertly laid Sanskirt Gray Hex 8.86” x 10.20” Matt Porcelain tile across an existing concrete area of approximately 156 square feet (12’ x 13’). This contemporary tile selection provides a striking visual contrast and a modern touch, elevating the aesthetic appeal of the space directly adjacent to the new paver patio. To address practical considerations and protect the home’s foundation, a crucial drainage solution was implemented. This involved burying approximately 20 linear feet of 4-inch black corrugated pipe, complete with a standard-sized downspout adapter and a pop-up emitter, efficiently diverting rainwater away from the property.

The final flourish to this comprehensive outdoor upgrade was the creation of a defined and vibrant landscaping bed. We meticulously hand-dug the bed edge to a depth of approximately 2 inches, providing a crisp delineation for the new plantings. Within this thoughtfully prepared space, we introduced three compact yet charming Baby Gem Boxwoods, a rich Purple Daydream Loropetalum, and three delicate White Drift Roses, strategically placed to offer year-round interest and color. The entire bed was then mulched with fresh pine needles, enhancing the visual appeal, retaining soil moisture, and suppressing weeds. This multifaceted project exemplifies our dedication to “Making Homes More Beautiful®” by integrating hardscaping, tiling, drainage, and softscaping into a cohesive, functional, and stunning outdoor living environment.
