Help Prevent Erosion – Outdoor Living Tip of the Day

Prevention

Here are some ways Mr. Outdoor Living can help prevent erosion in your Outdoor Living space.

  1. Improve your Vegetation
  2. Build you some Retaining Walls and Edging
  3. Place down Mulch and Pine Needles
  4. Stones, River Rocks, and Boulders
  5. Improve Drainage

The Project

A beautiful home in Charlotte (Piper Glen) needed some help with regard to preventing erosion around the house. Several water solutions were already in place. This remodel phase needed a light makeover. We removed some of the Rip Rap. Afterwards, we went ahead and installed a Belgard Diamond 9D retaining wall complete with a perforated corrugated pipe and 67 stone. We also installed some top soil complete with TifTuff Bermuda grass and installed two tons of NE River Jacks (one ton of 3/4” & one ton of 2” – 4”) complete with landscape fabric and staple. We then go to planting one large Cryptomeria tree.  Following that, we also planted nine Baby Gem Boxwoods. Thanks Jaime Flora Daniell for your friendship and business.

Retaining Walls

Retaining walls are structures that serve many different functions for residential homeowners.  They can be used to help prevent soil erosion, they can stabilize slopes, they can increase the value of your home and they can even increase the aesthetics of your house.  In order to build a retaining wall it takes careful planning and knowledge to construct a long lasting wall.  At Mr. Outdoor Living we have the knowledge and experience to help design and construct a retaining to suit our clients needs.
