Custom Outdoor Living Project in Ballantyne
The Challenge
This Ballantyne homeowner needed an outdoor space that solved a specific problem — drainage, sloped grading, an underused yard, or a transition between indoor and outdoor living — without compromising the look of the home. Our team scoped the site, identified the constraints, and proposed a design built around the way the family actually uses the space.
The Design & Material Selection
For this project we specified premium hardscape materials, chosen for durability in Charlotte's freeze-thaw cycles and for the way the color and texture sit against the home's existing architecture. The layout was drawn to match the home's sight lines, the lawn's natural grade, and the way the family moves between the house, patio, and yard.
The Final Result
Plantings – Outdoor Living Tip of the Day
The nursery is blooming early and the Spring rush is here! Pretty Plantings and Privacy Landscaping are popular this time of year. Curb Appeal and much more can look lovely with Plantings.
Plantings and landscaping can certainly add a lot of beauty and value to a home or property. Privacy landscaping is a popular choice for many homeowners who want to create a sense of seclusion and privacy in their outdoor spaces. This can be achieved using a variety of techniques, such as planting tall hedges or trees, installing a fence or wall, or using lattice or other decorative screens.
In addition to privacy landscaping, there are many other ways to use plantings to enhance the curb appeal and overall appearance of a property. For example, colorful flowers and foliage can be used to create a beautiful and welcoming entrance, while well-placed shrubs and trees can help to frame the house and draw the eye to its best features. Edible landscaping is also becoming increasingly popular, with many homeowners incorporating fruits, vegetables, and herbs into their gardens and landscapes.
Of course, in addition to the aesthetic benefits of plantings and landscaping, there are also many environmental benefits. Plants can help to absorb carbon dioxide, filter pollutants from the air and water, and provide habitat for wildlife. They can also help to reduce energy costs by shading buildings and cooling the air around them.
Overall, plantings and landscaping are a great way to add beauty, value, and environmental benefits to any property. Whether you’re looking to create privacy, enhance curb appeal, or simply enjoy the beauty of nature, there are many options to choose from.
