Accessibility Statement

Effective date: April 22, 2026 · Last updated: April 22, 2026

Our Commitment

Mr. Outdoor Living® is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to people of all abilities. We believe that everyone in the Charlotte region and surrounding Carolinas communities deserves equal access to information about outdoor living services, regardless of visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive ability. We treat digital accessibility as a continuous practice, not a one-time compliance check.

Standard We Aim For

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.2 AA is the international standard for web accessibility and is the standard referenced by Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and by most state accessibility laws.

Measures We Take

We actively work to ensure the following across mroutdoorliving.com:

  • Keyboard accessibility: every interactive element on the site is reachable and operable using only a keyboard. A “Skip to main content” link is the first tab stop on every page.
  • Visible focus indicators: every focusable element shows a clearly visible outline or ring when it receives keyboard focus.
  • Alternative text for images: all photographs and illustrations include descriptive alt text so screen readers can convey the content to users with low or no vision.
  • Color contrast: body text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and graphical components).
  • Semantic structure: pages use correct heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3 in order), landmark regions (header, nav, main, footer), and form labels tied to their inputs.
  • Reduced-motion support: autoplay hero videos and other motion effects are suppressed for visitors whose operating system is set to “reduce motion”.
  • Video controls: autoplay hero videos include a visible pause/play control so you can stop motion at any time.
  • Touch target size: interactive elements on mobile meet WCAG 2.2’s 24×24 pixel minimum.
  • Responsive design: the site reflows cleanly from desktop to tablet to phone, and supports 200% zoom without loss of content or function.
  • Consent controls: the cookie banner and all policy pages (Privacy, Terms, Cookie, Accessibility) are keyboard accessible and use accessible form patterns.

Assistive Technology

We test with current versions of the following assistive technologies on an ongoing basis:

  • Screen readers: VoiceOver (macOS, iOS), NVDA (Windows), and TalkBack (Android).
  • Keyboard-only navigation: full keyboard traversal across every page, 60+ tab stops.
  • Browser zoom: 200% zoom in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
  • Reduced-motion: “Reduce Motion” on macOS, iOS, and the equivalent on Windows.

Third-Party Content

Some content on our site is provided by third parties: product photos from paver manufacturers (Belgard, Techo-Bloc), embedded reviews from platforms like Google, Facebook, Nextdoor, and Yelp, and tags loaded through Google Tag Manager. We do our best to select accessible third-party services, but some content is outside of our direct control. If you encounter a barrier with a third-party component, please let us know and we will work with the vendor or remove the component.

How We Test

Our compliance methodology combines automated and manual audits:

  • Automated: axe-core, pa11y, and Lighthouse run against every production page.
  • Manual keyboard trace: full tab traversal of 25+ elements per page, verifying logical order and visible focus.
  • Manual screen-reader spot checks: VoiceOver traversal of key user journeys (home → service → contact, request a quote).
  • Contrast verification: every brand color paired with every background it touches is measured against WCAG ratios.
  • Periodic third-party audit: our compliance partner runs a full 18-check audit battery at each major release.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some older blog content imported from our previous website may contain images with less detailed alt text, or embedded third-party widgets that do not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. We are actively working through these items and prioritize any that are reported to us.

Reporting a Barrier

If you encounter any accessibility barrier on mroutdoorliving.com, please tell us. We want to know, and we will respond promptly.

When you reach out, please describe the page URL, the assistive technology or browser you were using, and the barrier you encountered. We will acknowledge your report within 3 business days and work with you to provide the information or service through an alternative channel while we fix the underlying issue.

Formal Approval

This Accessibility Statement was prepared on April 22, 2026. It was reviewed against WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria and against the 2024 ADA Title III Final Rule on web and mobile accessibility for state and local government. We review this statement annually, and any time we make a significant change to the site.
