The Challenge
This Charlotte, NC homeowner needed an outdoor space that solved a specific problem — drainage, sloped grading, an underused yard, or a transition between indoor and outdoor living — without compromising the look of the home. Our team scoped the site, identified the constraints, and proposed a design built around the way the family actually uses the space.
The Design & Material Selection
For this project we specified Belgard Arctic Cambridge Cobble pavers, chosen for durability in Charlotte's freeze-thaw cycles and for the way the color and texture sit against the home's existing architecture. The layout was drawn to match the home's sight lines, the lawn's natural grade, and the way the family moves between the house, patio, and yard.

This Charlotte renovation project fixed drainage problems in an old, cracked concrete area and made it look brand new. The solution included pipe outs, a catch basin, and the installation of a Belgard Arctic Cambridge Cobble Paver Patio with hardscape that sloped away from the house. This made drainage much better and kept water from damaging the foundation. The patio not only makes the house look better, but it also gives you a place to relax outside. It is emphasized that this upgrade will give a high return on investment when the house is sold. It also makes homes look better, last longer, and be worth more.
