Custom Outdoor Kitchen in Charlotte, NC
The Challenge
This Charlotte, NC homeowner needed an outdoor space that solved a specific problem — drainage, sloped grading, an underused yard, or a transition between indoor and outdoor living — without compromising the look of the home. Our team scoped the site, identified the constraints, and proposed a design built around the way the family actually uses the space.
The Design & Material Selection
For this project we specified River Rock, chosen for durability in Charlotte's freeze-thaw cycles and for the way the color and texture sit against the home's existing architecture. The layout was drawn to match the home's sight lines, the lawn's natural grade, and the way the family moves between the house, patio, and yard.
The Final Result
Outdoor Grill & Kitchen Area
A few exterior upgrades has been completed for this wonderful home in Weddington. The main attraction is the Outdoor Grill & Kitchen area with a very nice supporting role of plenty of cool curb appeal built with the following:
Install a custom Outdoor Kitchen grill island (“Freto” section – approx. 80” wide and another 6’ long section, and both 3’ in depth and height) with a Belgard Plantation Weston Wall complete with the following: Built in Bull grill (30” Outlaw), doors, opening for garbage can (2’ wide), 67 stone base, and bluestone counter-top (gas line included)
Create a hand dig bed edge and install two pallets of one-man sized boulders as curbing around most of the front yard existing landscaping beds
Install one pallet of two-man sized boulders as decorative Dryscape in several of the landscaping beds
Install one ton of TN River Rock (approx. 2” – 4” sizes) complete with landscape fabric under all of the downspouts
Install ten yards of Black mulch
