Achieving Success While Overcoming Adversity Through Teamwork And Positive Attitudes
Giant trees fallen on a trail or dangerous wildlife within the woods don’t stop us from accomplishing our quest in the wilderness. Amazing landscapes full of magnificent majestic beauty awaits those who chose to try. “I can’t do it” is not acceptable being spoken while struggling. We work together to win!
I will never give up on you was said several times throughout our adventures and marriage. Our mindset is focused on kindness, consideration and an uplifting spirit during our journeys. Most of the time the hardest parts of our hikes need prayers offered to help us make it.
For example, as I jam my hiking poles in the ground going uphill on steep inclines I say “Our Father” and “Hail Mary” prayers multiple times. I breathe in and out as my heart rate rises. I repeat the prayers and each step taken is a small victory. Every mile hiked is another milestone as I await for Alisa who is usually close behind me struggling herself. Occasionally even emotional breakdowns occur.
We have a passion to push ourselves past the normal limits. Belief that we will make it is vital. Love for each other and the tremendous respect for the parks is essential. Eventually, the trail ends and our faith in ourselves is fulfilled. After the exhausting process has passed reflection on what happened begins. The power of going through this is hard to explain, but continues to change our lives for the better.
If you put God first, He will show you things you can’t imagine. With God’s goodwill He guides us. Making mistakes and getting off track is part of life. However, we learn from our failures and continue to grow stronger as human beings. Forgiveness and changing habits to alter our direction is truly going on in our lives. We manifest ourselves to live with purpose and offer to share this joy with our mind, words and hearts.
Happiness happens sometimes after tears or the feeling of overwhelming gratitude. Achieving success while overcoming adversity through teamwork and positive attitudes creates euphoria. And, as Alisa likes to say, after each adventure that is accomplished... “Wow! We did it. So, what’s next?”
