Designing Your Dream Outdoor Kitchen

We start every outdoor kitchen with a use-pattern conversation: how many people you typically cook for, whether you grill year-round, whether the kitchen needs to anchor a covered structure or sit free-standing, and how it connects to indoor dining. From there our designers draft a 3D layout that locks in the working triangle (grill, prep, sink), accounts for code-required clearances, and integrates with existing patio hardscape, gas line, and electrical runs. Charlotte permitting is included where required.

Built-In Grills & Appliances

We work primarily with high-end grill brands proven in the Carolinas market — Blaze, Lynx, Coyote, and Twin Eagles — and pair them with the right side burners, warming drawers, refrigeration, and outdoor-rated ice makers for your cooking style. Gas runs (natural gas or propane) are sized to the burner output, and dedicated 20-amp circuits are installed for accessories that need power. For pizza fans, we also build wood- and gas-fired masonry pizza ovens directly into the kitchen surround.

Weather-Resistant Countertops & Cabinetry

For countertops in Charlotte's climate, we recommend honed granite, leathered quartzite, or porcelain slab — all three handle UV, freeze-thaw, and acidic spills (tomato, lemon, marinade) without etching. Cabinetry is 304 stainless steel or porcelain-tile-clad masonry for the highest-end look. We avoid laminated plywood and indoor MDF systems regardless of how they're marketed.

Seating & Dining Integration

The best outdoor kitchens have a bar seating ledge so guests can talk to whoever's cooking. We routinely design L- and U-shaped layouts with a 12" raised counter overhang for stools, plus a connected dining patio sized to a 60-72" table. Pergolas, retractable shade, and outdoor lighting tie the whole space into the home's evening use pattern.
